Hello Thanks.Yes the logic is bit different. i want the diff of two values. if diff is positive put in AmtDR else in AmtCR.

It is a one time process.

Yes the data was supposed to be correctly inserted. This occurs due to an error in my app. so i am running a process till the bug is found :)

As i have to do this for a number of records i cannot use a variable. so i run the query update twice; one for positive values and one for negative values .now it works fine.
