I've tried to repeat your problem using table which seemed to be apropriate for your trigger definition and some trivial updates. But I was not lucky enough to repeat your crash using 5.0.4 server.
Could you please try to repeat your problem with 5.0.6 ?

If you still will be able to repeat this crash with 5.0.6, could you go to
http://bugs.mysql.com/ and report it as bug?
Please provide the following information in your bug report:
a) Information about platform which you are using
b) Full definitions of tables you have used (as SHOW CREATE TABLE output)
c) Exact (and if possible minimal) sequence of statements which leads to the crash
We will be able to hunt down this bug much quicker in this case ! Thanks!
