rename the table and then back up, the size is different

I use the mysqldump to back up a table "tb1".
I run the rename table SQL from MySQL control center (I know the mysql control center is out of date) to rename tb1 to tb2. But it is a simple rename table call. will it be a problem?
Then I rebuild the tb1 from backup copy.
The tb1 and tb2 has the same records, right? But the size of tb1 and tb2 is different.
What is wrong?
