Problem after upgrading

Hi,

I have a problem after upgrading 3.23 to 4.0.

[root@trango lib]# mysqld_safe
chown: `mysql': invalid user
Starting mysqld daemon with databases from /var/lib/mysql
040825 13:04:08 mysqld ended

when I try to start mysqld start i get:
[root@trango sbin]# ./mysqld start
040825 13:05:22 Warning: Asked for 196608 thread stack, but got 126976
Fatal error: Please read "Security" section of the manual to find out how to run mysqld a s root!
040825 13:05:22 Aborting

040825 13:05:22 ./mysqld: Shutdown Complete

[root@trango sbin]#


I run Fedora core-2.
