Mysql database lost connection - can i reconnect?

Hello

I am using MySQL community as a backend database with one called the Archivist toolkit.

I downloaded and configured the MySQL database onto the C drive of my computer. After imputting data onto the Archivist toolkit, I moved the MySQL database to the R drive, and have lost the connection with it. The command line will not open, I tried reconfiguring the datbase but this has also failed. The data for the database is still on my computer, is there a way that I can regain connection so that I do not lose the data?

I am a complete novice with computers and have no IT support, so any help will be gratefully received.

Thank you
