So it's only a difference of about 3 bytes or so then? The reason I ask is because I'll never have millions of records; it'll be used on a small site used by less than 10 people that post articles, and I just want to make sure that really long articles can be written. I would estimate that the article count would never get above 10,000 in a very long time, and I have 300GB of space on my webhost. Given that it's only a difference of a few bytes, I'm willing to go through with changing my fields to longtext. Would you recommend it in my case?
