Are there any reasons not to upgrade from 4.0.27 to 4.1?

I want to upgrade to the latest 4.1 from 4.0.27 (on a Linux server), but is there any reason to fear such an upgrade?

Are there any backwards compatibility issues?

Are there any known issues regarding existing PHP code getting broken? And so on.

I understand that "something can always go wrong" and so do a backup first, but I have hundreds of sites on this server and if there are problems (especially with existing queries coded in PHP), I might not be made aware of them quickly, if ever. I'd like to know if there's any real reason and known issues not to upgrade.
