Newbie: want to connect and send commands from other languaje

Hi there!

this a really stupid question I know, but I have been looking for the answer, but haven´t found if .

The thing is this... I want to connect to the database from other languaje (Progress) using sockets... I want to be able to do basic things like delete, update, create, as if whe dreoing thru mysqlFront.

I think i cannot use odbc... wo i need to go directly to the socket level..
