Well you're blazing a trail into new territory here.

If you have a newer version of Excel, try the DATA menu and IMPORT EXTERNAL DATA and NEW DATABASE QUERY. (This uses Microsoft Query).

You'll have to setup a SYSTEM DSN in the ODBC admin first though, it doesn't seem to like FILE DSNs. Just configure it the same as your file DSN.

Then try importing the data into excel that way (the entire table) and see if Excel chokes on it. If so, then you know it's an excel issue. See what kind of error messages you get back and what they are. You might have to google the error message to see if someone else has come across this before (usually have).
