TINYTEXT/TINYBLOB : 255 bytes
TEXT / BLOB : 64KB
MEDIUMTEXT / MEDIUMBLOB : 16MB
LONGTEXT / LONGBLOB : 4GB
They are implemented by 1,2,3, or 4 byte length indicator.

TEXT gets involved in CHARSET conversions (as does VARCHAR); BLOB (and VARBINARY) do not.

Unlike Oracle, The TEXT family is identical to the CHAR family as far as user interface for SELECT / INSERT.
