HOW DO CREATED USERS LOG ON MySQL CLI?

Hi All,

I'm new to MySQL. I've managed to create users who exist on the server but My Created users still can't log on the my SQL CLI. I'm burning within. can you help please?

I installed MySQL successfully on a windows OS for personal use.

I created the users with the create user Syntax:

mysql> CREATE USER BON IDENTIFIED BY PASSWORD pass;
then
mysql>CREATE USER 'Bruv'@'localhost' IDENTIFIED BY PASSWORD garden;

then

GRANT ALL ON DATABASE_NAME.* TO BON;
GRANT ALL ON DATABASE_NAME.* TO 'Bruv'@'localhost';

AFTERWARDS, users BON and Bruv are able to log unto MySQL query browser successfull BUT UNFORTUNATELY they cannot log unto the MySQL Command Line Interface.
when I try loging them on with the passwords 'pass' or 'garden' (their identified passwords), I am denied and CLI exits.

(MySQL CLI always requests password upon startup and only root account can log on)

During the installation with the Installation wizard, I did not check the 'allow users to connect remotely' box. Could this be the reason?? Please help Brilliant guys!!

Many Thanks

El
