Hm I have not. The only thing I changed was the innodb_buffer_pool_size. It was set at 47M, so I set it to a quarter of my 2G RAM. But that didn't help the query performance, I suspect it's because the index takes up 4G of memory from SHOW TABLE STATUS.
Could you give me pointers to other relevant settings?
