Hi Mike,

I'm currently running multiple mysql servers on a single linux box like the way you mentioned above. In case of supporting multiple databases, could you please list some Pros/Cons for running multiple mysql servers (one server for one database) or running single mysql server (to create multiple databases on one server)?

We're coming from 'oracle world' and started to use mysql by running 3 mysql databases on 3 different mysql servers (same version). I understand that, one benefit of the multi-server setup is to spoort different versions of mysql. But we actually don't mind to use the same version for all the databases. as far as performance and system resource consumption are concerned, which setup will be better?
