Hi,

I've been using recursive stored procedures and they work fine. Check here

I'm hoping CONNECT BY PRIOR (future to-do) or the sql standard WITH RECURSIVE syntax will be supported soon, and that the mysql team is not backtracking by disabling some currently useful features.
