Ok so I tried to repro the issue and now it seem to work as expected which is to have the sort happen first then the limit. I am not sure what is diffrent in the sql I am using now as to when I had the issue. In any event it works now so sorry for the quesiton. If I get it to repo again I will post the data and query so I can get further help then.
