I would like to try to learn how use (and hopefully implement) MySQL.
I am currently running RedHat Enterprise Version 3 but I can't figure out how to even get MySQL running.
I've tried following the protocol form the MySQL page, but to no avail.
When I try to run ./mysql_install_db (located in /usr/bin) I get this message:
Didn't find /usr/libexec/mysqld
You should do a 'make install' before executing this script
Any ideas? I am really new to this whole thing and any help would be great. Assume I know nothing about MySQL and you would be correct.
