Connect MS Acces with MySQL without MyODBC

Hi,
I used to connect my MS Access front-end to MySQL with MyODBC. But now my provider has blocked direct access.
Is there any other way to connect to the MySQL? I've seen some tools which use a php-script, but I can't figure out if that's an alternative way to connect.
Can anyone tell me if and how?
