Must restart Web server after SQL query errors... is this normal?
We have a Windows 2000 server running IIS 5 and MySQL. Certain errors in queries, such as trying to access a column that doesn't exist, causes a crash so that no ASP pages on our server will run until we reboot the server. Obviously we try to catch any scripting errors before the scripts go on to our live server, but occasionally users will come up with ways to break them, and the whole server goes down. We have no way to know what exactly caused the error unless we comb through the log text files, and even then it does not show the error. Is this normal or do we have something set up wrong? I can't imagine hosting companies everywhere are constantly restarting their Web servers whenever a user puts up script with a bad SQL query in it.
