Dear Rick,

thanks for your reminders,

lots of your point are discussed in the total-networkdesign and the most of them are taken care of.
because we dont use id's and it's is practicually impossible to write to exact the same rows by two servers, it is possible to write to both masters.
a Loadbalancing solution (starting with NLB, ending with dedicated hardware loadbalancer) will take care of downtime of one server.
In the web-applications data has been cahced in case of session loss.

it is a little bit complex, but most of all taken care of in other network-design parts.


although some points have been taken care of, you notification has been very usefull for me.
the section about red/write loads i have to discuss some time, it is a point of attention.
a little bit off topic right now, but do you knwo a easy way to record/monitor the reads/writes and/or simulate these to define the maximum reads/writes?
