Want to create a "My Place" page for website...need guidance

This is probably somethign straight forward, but am new to MYSQL, and presently sue Lotus Notes. Here is my scenario: Ok...so I a membership based website. These members have access to different things....I want a myplace page that associates with there username, and displays what they have access, be it an article, a audio clip, etc, on this page. Not sure how to design that. The key would be username....Could someone point me in the right direction.
