mysql access and ODBC

I have linked from MYSQL to access using an ODBC connection...
the data in MYSQL is fine showing time HH:MM:SS
however when I try to view in access it shows this as a date.
I have tried formating the tables cells in access etc but to no avail. I an't find anything in the help documents.
Can anyone help?
