mixed media server

Hello folks.

I searched the forums but i never found or i did not know how to phrase this question properly. I want to know if mysql in the xampp stack is going to have a problem living on the same hardware and drive as a red5 server. I am putting up a website at school that will have some video chat and video serving functions and after chewing through days of reading material i am still unsure if the database will hang while calling and serving requested media because its on the same machine.

Will it work ?

And if it will not, what needs to be the more powerful system, the media machine or the webserver?

Thank you guys for anticipated responses.

<edit> Well a bonus development which i hope helps. I just negotiated a deal for an intel quad core with 8 gigs of ram and a 32gig ssd with 4 500 gig regular drives and a raid card. In exchange for my bike LOL. Well now, if it comes down to power i think i will have enough. My question still remains, will mysql work with another server running on its machine, red5server ?
