date in Mysql

i got 2 dates from my JSP pages. 2005 - 3 - 5(start date of project) & 2005 - 5 - 10(end date of the project). after choosing those 2 dates from a drop down list respectivly. i come to a confirmation page that i created, it shows the 2 dates appearing as 2005 - 3 - 5 and the next line is 2005 - 5 -10 the format is in YYYY/MM/DD. but when i confirm the confirmation page it will send all the info to the database but only the start date of project appeared in the database as 2005 - 3 - 5, the end date of project appeared as 0000/00/00. Why is this so ???
