Hi,

can someone explain this?

mysql> select LN(743.7585697483/743.5888244369);
+-----------------------------------+
LN(743.7585697483/743.5888244369)
+-----------------------------------+
0.00022825240801256
+-----------------------------------+

While putting the same figures in variables leads to a different result...

mysql> select @test1;
+--------------------------+
@test1
+--------------------------+
743.75856974830000000000
+--------------------------+

mysql> select @test2;
+--------------------------+
@test2
+--------------------------+
743.58882443690000000000
+--------------------------+

mysql> select LN(@test1/@test2);
+----------------------+
LN(@test1/@test2)
+----------------------+
0.000228252408012338
+----------------------+

Best regards and many thanks

Sascha
