IN and EXISTS ...

i can't anderstand it ...

i am testing mysql version 4.0.20

a select like

"select * from tab1 where tab1.col1 in (select tab2.col1 from tab2)"

doesn't work !

why?

in manual
http://dev.mysql.com/doc/mysql/en/EXISTS_and_NOT_EXISTS_subqueries.html

there are subqueries with IN and EXISITS and it seems to be supported by mysql ..
