DATA LOAD - using column_list

Is there a way to skip columns in the data file when using the column_list attribute of DATA LOAD?

For example, if I wanted ignore the fourth column in the data file I'm trying to load how would I do it?

I tried the following but MySQL would not accept it:

(area,status,property_type,listing_num,,agent_id)

As I understand it the order in the column_list is directly related to the order of the columns in the data file. So how do I skip over, for example, the fourth column in the data file?
