I'm extremely new. I just installed MySQL onto my mac osx macbook pro. When I try to create a database, I get this message:
mysql> create database family;
ERROR 1044 (42000): Access denied for user ''@'localhost' to database 'family'
mysql>
The documentation says to ask my sysadmin for access but that's me. I'm not sure how to change this.
