ERROR 1045: Access denied for user: 'root@localhost' (Using password: yes)

Hi

I am able to connect to mysql through cmd prompt with username:root and password:amit but not able to open phpmyadmin through browser it is showing the following error



phpMyAdmin tried to connect to the MySQL server, and the server rejected the connection. You should check the host, username and password in config.inc.php and make sure that they correspond to the information given by the administrator of the MySQL server.

while from cmd prompt i am able to connect to the mysql with user:root and password:amit
