Which might be a clue that it's not likely to work. Generally SQL is literal-minded; it is not a complete comnputer langauage by any means. It's just a query language. I don't know anything about ColdFusion, but it'd be surprising if CF implemented a level of abstraction which no other MySQL API implements.
