More info. I have placed the text file in the /tmp directory. If I try to use LOAD DATA... with the LOCAL option in both terminal and Workbench I get command not supprted in this version of MySQL error. Remove the LOCAL and the error disappears but the command fails with error 13 file not found.
If I use mysqlimport with the -L (Local) option and the same paraters as the LOAD DATA it works as it should. The table is filled with data. The only problem I have is that there are warnings during the import but they are not displayed.
I'm using MySQL version 5.5.34-0 on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. MySQL Workbench version 6.0.8. I guess the question is why does the local option work in mysqlimport and not in load data? Also where are the warnings displayed? Are they logged to a log file somewhere?
