i have trying to access my mysql db via a remote computer with some great software called SQLyog.

ok,

my hosting company will not let me have shell access to administer mysql. i have a section on their gui cpanel interface that allows the addition of a new host., but since the system is croned every 12 hours or so , i have to wait for my tables to be flushed. thats a drag. so

i am using a remote dialup connection and the error i get when trying to access my mysql db is a #1045

the syntax i have aded via my gui host config. is

my_mysql_db_user_name@%.level3.net

if i understand this should allow any remote host from level3 .net with the correct username to access "my" local mysql db.. any help would be appreciated.

i think im changing my hosting company to he.net.
