How can I isolate the relevant text found from a full text search?

If I have a large amount of text stored in each row and did a match-against boolean search for a small sentence, is there a way to retrieve only the relevant text that triggered the match along with some surrounding text of that match? Similar to how a search engine displays results.

Its easy to get a listing of all the rows where a match is found, but I need to find a way to have it select the relevant text where the match was identified during match-against. Hope that makes sense :)
