Have Command Prompt, Need to connect to MySQL program in a text file

I have MySQL 5.7 running on Windows 10. I have a MySQL program on a notepad that I need to connect to my command prompt. Does anyone know how to do this? I managed it yesterday and today it doesn't work. Thanks,
