gpl license

Hi,
I'm developing a software and wish to use mysql as database.
The software code will not embed mysql, it will merely connect to it and mysql will run as an independent server on the user's pc.
The question is if I'm allowed to redistribute mysql community edition with the software without releasing my software as gpl, or without forcing the users to download mysql on their own.
I've read that "The GPL doesn’t require you to GPL-license any software that merely connects to MySQL" so I'd like to be sure if my case falls under this assumption.
Thanks
Marco
