mysqld is the name of the MySQL server program. If you're using Workbench successfully, the server program is already running.
To set up replication, you'll need to move past Workbench, learn to use the commandline client program mysql, and learn how to use a text ditor to edit my.cnf (Linux) or my.ini (Windows).
