Hello and thank you for your reply.

I only have 1 Computer with internet connection. the ISP provided us with a STATIC IP. i wanted to test this so that i can create Visual Foxpro Applications that can access a centralized database online. currently, all my applications are offline use only, can be accessed through a local network. i am thinking of maybe using VPN if that can be done ? it maybe more secure than a LIVE mysql. but i don't know what are the requirements. Server Hosting websites kind of limit me with how i can easily access and manage my database. i had to use their tools, also i have only tried the Timed versions of those for testing and i have not used a proper one before.
