CSV to MySQL 8 issues

When converting a CSV file to MySQL 5.7 it would automatically accept a string 'T' or 'F' into a tinyint(1) unsigned field as a 1 or 0. After a couple hours playing with 8.0, I can't do this now.

Likewise I can't get it to accept a string value such as '57' into an int(8) field as 57. Since I'm converting client's data from FoxPro where this is necessary, for me this presents a major problem.

Is this something I have to live with, or am I missing something?

Thanks,
Jim Sawyer
