Obviously, just as an sproc or an input form depends on table and column references inside it.

Remember, SQL is not a complete computer language. It's just a scripting language for translating relational algebra into human-readable words and back again. Except in "select * ...", it does not generalise much across identifiers.

Best solution for that I know is to follow best known practices, hope for the best, prepare for the worst.
