I was importing data into some database with phpmyadmin. But not one of the system databases. Due to some bug in phpmyadmin it kept doing some querying (reading) from the mysql database - as far as I can see.
skip-grant-tables doesn't work for me. I tried both "mysqld --skip-grant-tables" and putting "skip-grant-tables" in my.ini. But neither has any effect. I get exactly the same error messages as I got before.
