Where's the my.cnf??

I just installed MySQL on Apple OS High Sierra from http://dev.mysql.com/get/Downloads/MySQL-5.6/mysql-5.6.26-osx10.9-x86_64.dmg, apparently without error, but now I'm trying to customize my.cnf but I see

%cat /etc/my.cnf
cat: /etc/my.cnf: No such file or directory

where is it??
