Right sorry, I'll clarify.
I have already moved the backend to MySQL and am using the ODBC connector to link the tables and views some time ago.
I was assuming that the problem I am having with very slow performance over slow WAN connections was that MS Access still used the Jet engine on the linked tables and so was pulling much more information and/or too many times. If I am wrong please let me know, I'll bark up a different tree.
