Extracting databases from a MySQL dump file

I have a MySQL dump file with about 40 databases in it. I would love to break it apart into 40 individual databases for some troubleshooting.
All the sources I'm finding through Google are really old, and seem unreliable.
Is there a "best practices" method for this?
