If the previous databases were corrupted, they need to be repaired in the old MySQL version.

So if it's me, and if there are no usable backups, I install the previous version on another machine, get it running, bring it down, copy in the old data folders, bring it up, and get to work repairing the corruption. How to go about that depends on the nature and extent of the corruption as reflected by error messages and what the MySQL error log shows, and the MySQL version. Once you have the error messages, we cab point you at possible solutions.
