Is necessary to put customer and admin in different tables nowadays?

Hi,

Searching on Stack Overflow, I noticed that the answers for my question are 10+ years old. Is having separate tables for customers and staff(admins) still necessary for performance? I'm talking about a “standard” ecommerce website.
