The "prop" command was not found. Did you mean:
The "xprop" command from the "x11-utils" package (main)
The "ptop" command from the "fp-utils-3.0.0" package (universe)
The "props" command from the "xview-clients" package (universe)
The "prof" command from the "profphd" (universe) package
The "proj" command from the "proj-bin" (universe) package
The "kprop" command from the "krb5-admin-server" (universe) package
The "hprop" command from the "heimdal-kdc" (universe) package

... aren't from MySQL, they're from your shell as Phil explains.
Database objects need to be surrounded by backticks only when those names contain illegal characters, eg spaces or hyphens, but backticks can get in the way as you discovered, so don't use such characters in db object names.
