Brilliant. Thanks again for all the additional detail. I did follow the link yesterday but to be honest I did not read the entire article. It was a long day.. ;)
In closing... it seems that there are two paths to take.
Approach A
1 Transfer the existing customer data into a neutral format, (i.e. dump or csv)
2 Create the target schema and migrate data or have an import create the schema and migrate the data
Approach B
1 Use the existing data and index files
2 Generate SPI files from the FRM files
Do you have a preference? And why?
I personally have a preference, but there are colleagues of mine who have a different point of view. As such I am trying to produce an objective findings document with references, including our discussion, risk assessments, etc..
