The "merge software" comes from where? If it provided that mistaken code (assigning an empty string to an integer column), you will need to edit and correct that error, or ask the makers of that software to fix it.

And about screen images, they're downline from where your problem is, you need to be thinking less about screen images, more about the code and where it came from and how to fix it.
