Lost connection between database server et remote server

Hi,
I have a database mysql server and a remote server which have mysql cli installed.
I ran a batch on the remote server (mysql command) which queries the database server. The database query take more one hour and then it finished.
But the remote batch is still runinng.
Connection on database server is closed and connection on remote server is still ESTABLISHED.
So why the batch didn't trap the end on the query.
