Hi, Barry,

I was so sceptical of finding the solution I required from a forum, but so glad I did wander over here. You were perfectly correct as to the positioning of the "IGNORE 1 LINES" statement. Once that was corrected , the script ran OK, but then bumped into another problem, this time security. I had to move the import file(s) to the "secure_file_priv" folder for it to work.
I have spent days running into brick walls with this problem. You have been a great help. Thank you ever so much!! :-)
