BTW, my OS in ubuntu.
My trouble is NOT forgetting the root password, but I didn't set it during the installation.
Is there a default root password?
I just installed MySQL and there is no useful data inside. So I am OK to reinstall again.
In fact, I did uninstall and install again; however, during the second time installation, I was not prompted to set root password.
